Srinagar: Police on Tuesday arrested and booked five youths for misbehaving with worshippers during “Tarawi” prayers on Tuesday in Sultania Jamia Masjid in Naman, Kakapora area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district, reports said.

The five youths were arrested after a video surfaced on social networking sites showing youth acting mischievously during “Tarawi” prayers in the village, a police official said.

“All the boys were arrested after the video went viral sparking off outrage against the act and netizens calling for strict action against the boys” said a police officer, adding that one of the youth arrested performing Umrah twice.

Kakpora police station has registered a case FIR No 19/2018 under sections 296 and 451 RPC against the arrested youths after villagers complained in the police station, the offical added.
