Srinagar: Complete Shutdown being observed in Central Kashmir’s Chadoora area of Budgam in memory of prominent Hizb-ul Mujahideen commander Mohammad Yasin Yatoo who was slain in a gunfight with government forces last year on this day.
Reports said that All shops, business establishments, schools and colleges, petrol pumps in Chadoora town remained shut today to commemorate the first death anniversary of Hizb commander Yasin Yatoo alias Mahmood Gaznavi.
The shutdown also affected the movement of traffic as most of the public traffic remained off the roads.
“Scores of banners have been raised in the town and adjoining villages in memory of yatoo. Many people also visited Yatoo’s family to express their solidarity with them,” witnesses said.
Yatoo, a top Hizb commander was among three militants killed in an encounter with government in Awneera village of Shopian district last year.
Yasin Yatoo, took command of Hizb after death of Burhan Muzaffar Wani in 2016.
