02 Drug Peddlers arrested in Awantipora; Charas Recovered.

Awantipora : Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested 02 drug peddlers in Awantipora and recovered Charas from their possession.

Police party of Police Post Toll Plaza while performing Naka Checking near Toll Plaza Awantipora intercepted a Auto Rickshaw bearing registration number JK01L 6792 during search 20 Grams of Charas like substance was recovered from the possession of the said drug peddler.
The drug peddler has been identified as Waseem Ahmad Makroo S/O Ab Rashid Makroo, R/o Bemina Srinagar. Auto rickshaw used in the commission of crime has also been seized.
Similarly one more Police party of Police Post Toll Plaza while performing Naka Checking Checking near Kaigam crossing on NH-44 Signalled one Auto Rickshaw to stop and the search of the driver was taken during search 36 Grams of Charas like substance was recovered from the possession of driver on the preliminary questioning the driver of the said Auto Rickshaw deposed his name as Aadil Ahmad S/O Mohammad Rafiq shiekh, R/o Natipora Srinagar, Auto rickshaw bearing registration number JK01AL- 1324 used in the commission of the said crime has also been seized.

Accordingly a Case FIR Numbers 47/ 2024 & 48 /2024 under section 8/20, NDPS Act stand registered at Police Station Awantipora
