02 Drug Peddlers arrested in Budgam; Contraband substance recovered.

122 drug peddlers arrested & 18 vehicles seized in NDPS cases in Distt Budgam during 2022

Budgam : Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Budgam Police arrested 02 drug peddlers and recovered contraband substance from their possession.

Yesterday during late night naka checking at Tagnar Chadoora, Police party of Police Station Chadoora intercepted one vehicle Santro bearing registeration number JK05A-8236 with two persons on broad. During search of said vehicle 05 nylon Poppy Straw (Fukki) bags weighing 176.200 KGs were recovered from their Possession.The drug peddlers were arrested on spot who were subsequently identified as:- 1)Showkat Ahmad Yatoo @ Shola son of Abdul Aziz Yatoo resident of Hayatpora Chadoora &
02) Farooq Ahmad Sheikh @ Jana son of Abdul Majeed Sheikh resident of Tangnar Chadoora.

Case FIR number 209/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Chadoora and investigation taken up.
Vehicle Santro used for the commission of the crime has also been seized.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddling in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
