Handwara : Continuing its efforts against drug peddling, Handwara Police arrested two peddlers and recovered narcotics in Vilgam and Kralgund areas.
On April 12, 2023, a police party of Police Station Vilgam, while on naka duty at Dahama crossing, apprehended one person who had attempted to avoid the police party in a suspicious manner. On search, around 30 grams of Charas like substance was recovered from his possession. The person has been identified as Mohd Afzal Shah S/o Abdul Gafar R/o Gund Momin. In relation to this, FIR No.36/2023 under NDPS Act has been registered in PS Vilgam and investigation initiated.
Furthermore, on April 12, 2023, a police party of Police Station Kralgund, while on patrolling at Reshipora Wuder, apprehended one person who had attempted to avoid the police party in a suspicious manner. On search, around 40 grams of Charas like substance was recovered from his possession. The person has been identified as Waseem Ahmad Mir S/o Gh Hassan Mir R/o Zathan Rafiabad. In relation to this, FIR No.35/2023 under NDPS Act has been registered in PS Kralgund and investigation initiated.
