Pride of Kashmir | Meet Sameer Elia, An emerging Poet from Handwara Kashmir. 

Sameer works primarily in urdu field of poetry where he has written most of his poems. As the Surname,”Elia” suggest he’s been so much inspired by the Poet,Jaun Elia in his real life as well as this fictional world of poetry.

Lazat_e_Aafreen,yaad,ik fariyaad being the poets most famous works. Sameer, although not being that much into English poetry has written well over more than 4 poems in English as well.

Sameer was born in Khunabal village of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district started his school from ISLAMIA MODEL HIGH SCHOOL HANDWARA. It’s here in this school where he got exposed fast paced life and exposure of being in the very noble people of the town that he developed his taste, firstly in reading poetry then to writing his own.

Sameer is currently studying in Govt Degree College Handwara, where he is pursuing his B.A in Urdu literature. In the said college sameer has participated in many Essay competition and Mushaira’s. In a recent chat with sameer, he revealed to us that he’s planning on to publish his first book.

Although he didn’t disclose us the title of the book but we’re still looking much forward to read it when it comes out in the market.
