Kupwara : Dar-ul-Uloom Syed Rasool Anwaria Khurhama Lolab marked its annual congregation on Sunday.
The daylong programme was attended by a host of prominent Islamic scholars including Mufti Mohammad Shoaib-ul-Allah Khan, Mufti Muzaffar Hussain Qasmi, Mufti Syed Mohammad Ayoub, Mufti Reyaz Ahmad Shah, Mufti Bashir-ud-Din, Alhaaj Maulana Ghazi Hussain, Qari Mohammad Hussain Danish, Maulana Abdul Aziz Qureshi, Maulana Ishaq Ahmad and others.
The event saw the felicitation of ten students including six girls and four boys for completing ‘Hifz’ (memorization) of the Holy Quran.
The attending scholars in their speeches highlighted the importance and significance of Quranic education for the female gender.
“Modernization in today’s age has taken away our youth from the Islamic path. Our youth need to read the religion thoroughly and must follow it’s principles accordingly in letter and spirit”, a scholar said.
“Keep a keen vigil on your children as we are witnessing our youth getting involved in different kinds of bad activities. We need to educate and counsel them to shape their future for a better tomorrow”, another scholar said.
“Prophet Muhammad (SAW) is our role model and will remain so always and forever. We must do things as per his virtuous sayings”, Mufti Mohammad Ayoub said.
Mufti Muzaffar Hussain Qasmi asked the preachers to use vernacular language to share their ideas. “This language is our own property and responsibility to preserve it”, Qasmi said.
Mufti Mohammad Shoaib-ul-Allah on the eve said that “Qur’an is the only book which removes rust from our heart and healing all our wounds. We must read and recite this book with full abundance on a daily basis. This is the book which refreshes our mind and heart and keeps us fresh throughout.”
“Remember death always and forever as it comes without any invitation. We should be ready for this ultimate death as it keeps no calendar. If we remain always ready for death, hardly we can commit any sin”, Mufti further said.
The event was attended by family members of the boys and girls collectively, and on behalf of those girls completing the ‘Hifz course’ were don with turbans – as an act of symbolism by the scholars present on the occasion.
Large number of participants including women, children attender the daylong annual congregation to encourage the students for completing the course.
