PULWAMA : The 71st All India Cooperative Week was marked with enthusiasm in Pulwama, witnessing the distribution of registration certificates to various marketing societies, recognizing their contributions to cooperative growth.
Speaking on the occasion, Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR) Shahbaz Ahmad Boda emphasized the critical role of cooperatives in uplifting the local economy. He stressed the need for focused efforts in dairy production, particularly through women’s cooperatives and highlighted other key sectors such as fisheries, trout farming, poultry and allied schemes.
“The cooperative model is instrumental in generating self-employment opportunities. By working in tandem with individuals and societies, we can enhance productivity and create sustainable livelihoods,” said ACR.
He urged cooperative societies to leverage government schemes to expand their activities, improve infrastructure and boost milk production and other allied industries. The event reinforced the commitment to fostering a robust cooperative movement in the district, ensuring inclusive growth and economic development.
