Group of 50 progressive farmers flagged-off from Kupwara for inter-state Exposure tour

KUPWARA : Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Kupwara, Gulzar Ahmed Bhat Tuesday flagged- off a group of 50 progressive farmers including women farmers  from DC Office Complex, Kupwara for a 3 -day inter-state exposure tour.

The exposure tour was organized by Agriculture Production & Farmers Welfare Department under centrally Sponsored ATMA (Agriculture Technology Management Agency )to Seed Multiplication farm Tappar Pattan, where farmers will and attend capacity building programme on “seed multiplication and protected cultivation of vegetables”
Among others present on the occasion included District Agriculture Officer (Inputs), Syed Mushtaq ,  Farm Manager, Vegetable Farm Kupwara, Javaid Ahmed Tantray, Sub Division level Subject Matter Specialist, Manzoor Ahmed Sheikh and other officers and employees of agriculture department.
Interacting with the farmers on the occasion, the ADDC underlined that the objective of such an exposure tour is to make farmers aware of the latest technological interventions in the field of agriculture to achieve the targets and goals.
The farmers were advised to replicate the new technology in their respective areas that they will learn during the visit and further share it with other fellow farmers.
ADDC impressed upon the farmers to interact with the farm scientists, experts, and extension functionaries at Seed Multiplication farm Pattan to get acquainted with latest techniques in seed multiplication farm and protected cultivation of vegetables.
He asked the farmers to further enhance their skills in the field.
