Anti-Beggary and Children in Street Situations drive conducted by Social Welfare Department Ganderbal

GANDERBAL : In a determined effort to address the issues of child begging and children in street situations, Mission Vatsalya, under the Social Welfare Department, conducted a comprehensive drive from Dudarhama to Nagbal.

This initiative, directed by the District Child Protection Officer, Bashir Ahmad Malik, highlights the ongoing commitment to safeguarding the rights and welfare of vulnerable children in Ganderbal.
The drive witnessed active participation from various units, including the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) Ganderbal, officials from the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), representatives from the Special Juvenile Police Unit (SJPU), and the Child Helpline (1098) team in Ganderbal.
Each unit contributed vital support and expertise, working in coordination to identify and assist children in need of care and protection.
During the drive, the teams engaged with the local community to raise awareness about the importance of protecting children from exploitative situations and ensuring their right to a safe and nurturing environment.
District Child Protection Officer, emphasized the department’s commitment to continuing such drives to address the issues of child begging and street situations.
The Department of Mission Vatsalya extends its gratitude to all participants and community members for their cooperation and support in this noble endeavor. The department also encourages citizens to report any instances of children in need by contacting Child Helpline 1098.
