Pakistan Cricket Board Rejects Hybrid Model for Champions Trophy 2025

Islamabad : In a significant development ahead of the ICC Board meeting on November 29th, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially rejected the proposed hybrid model for the 2025 Champions Trophy. This decision comes as a major setback for the tournament’s organizers, as it could potentially disrupt the event’s schedule and venue arrangements.
The hybrid model, which was suggested as a potential solution to the ongoing India-Pakistan cricket tensions, would have involved hosting matches in both Pakistan and a neutral venue, such as the UAE. However, the PCB’s stance remains firm, insisting on hosting the entire tournament within Pakistan.
This decision has further complicated the situation, as India has consistently refused to tour Pakistan due to security concerns. The ICC Board meeting will now be crucial in determining the fate of the Champions Trophy, with various scenarios being considered, including potential venue changes or even the postponement of the tournament.
