Handwara Police Organised One day training cum workshop on NDPS Cases

Handwara: One day training-cum-workshop programme on investigation of NDPS Cases was organized by District Police Handwara at DPO Handwara. The programme was conducted under the supervision of Sr. Superintendent of Police Handwara Shri. Mushtaq Ahmad-JKPS, and attended by all GO’s of PD Handwara including Sr. Prosecuting Officer DPO Handwara, all SHO’s, IC Police Posts and investigating officers of NDPS cases. In his inaugural speech Sr. Superintendent of Police Handwara highlighted the objective of this workshop and underscored it’s importance to enhance and hone up investigative skills of officers and various SOP’s issued from time to time to be adopted while investigating NDPS Act cases. During the work shop case studies on various conviction as well as acquittals cases were discussed at length and breadth. The Sr. Prosecuting officer also discussed the provisions of NDPS Act in detail with the participants and stressed upon adherence of all the relevant sections and SOP’s already in place to ensure that no lacunas are left which otherwise might prove fatal for securing convictions.

At the conclusion, Sr. Superintendent of Police Handwara Shri Mushtaq Ahmad-JKPS, expressed hope that all the officers and I.O’s investigating the NDPS cases will put in all efforts to investigate cases in a highly professional manner, so that no lacunas are left which will give accused persons chance to get acquittal as has been seen in the previous such cases and to enhance the conviction rates of these cases.
