Nadda gave these directions during a meeting of the organizational review of the States/UTs at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi.

The meeting from Jammu and Kashmir was attended by BJP UT chief Sat Sharma, Ashok Koul, organizational general secretary, Dr Narinder Singh, national secretary and MLA and Rakesh Mahajan, Election Incharge.
The BJP president gave a detailed briefing at the meeting on the ongoing membership drive, election process and other activities of the party across the Union Territory including highlighting the people’s issues at various forums.
While Nadda chaired the meeting, national organizational general secretary of the BJP BL Santosh and all general secretaries among others were present.
Insiders told the Excelsior that Jammu and Kashmir BJP unit has been asked by the party high command to complete party election process by January 15. The election process at various levels is already on and the party leadership is confident that the exercise will be over within the given deadline.Jammu local businesses
Sat Sharma is presently working as the UT party chief after replacing Ravinder Raina. While there is no word yet, the chances are that Sharma will be elected unanimously as the party president after completion of the election process.

The new BJP team will be nominated by the president in consultations with the party high command.
The BJP high command has also asked the party unit to complete the membership drive.
The BJP, as per the party leaders, is going to exceed the membership drive target by about two lakh. It was assigned the target of eight lakh but it is likely to enrol 10 lakh members, they said, adding the membership drive is going on across Jammu and Kashmir.
“The BJP leadership has also been asked to finalize calendar for organizational activities for the next year including various programmes to gear up the party cadre to come up to expectations of the people,” the insiders said.
The BJP has become second largest party after Assembly elections held in Jammu and Kashmir after about a decade in September-October this year winning 29 seats behind 41 of the ruling National Conference. The BJP has left the Congress way behind which could win just six seats. Present strength of the BJP has come down to 28 due to sudden demise of party’s Nagrota MLA Devender Singh Rana.
Election for the BJP’s national president also figured at the meeting.

However, the party leaders said, election for the national president will be held only after completion of party’s election process in 50 percent States/Union Territories.
BJP president JP Nadda has also been holding prestigious Health and Family Welfare Ministry in the Narendra Modi Government. (Daily Excelsior)
