Kupwara: The District Administration Kupwara, in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Tourism, successfully organized a vibrant Winter Carnival at Kariwan Diver in the scenic Lolab valley of Kupwara district.
The event was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan, in the presence of District Development Council (DDC) Chairman, Irfan Sultan Pandithpori, along with other DDC members. The carnival attracted thousands of attendees from across the region, turning the occasion into a grand celebration of culture, tradition, and community spirit.
The Winter Carnival featured an array of cultural and recreational activities, providing a platform to showcase the district’s rich heritage and promote local talent. Hundreds of colorful stalls were set up, displaying traditional crafts, authentic cuisine, and diverse exhibits, creating an engaging and festive atmosphere for visitors.
Addressing the gathering, DC Ayushi Sudan underscored the importance of such initiatives in boosting tourism and strengthening community bonds. She expressed gratitude to all stakeholders for their collaborative efforts in making the event a success. DDC Chairman Irfan Sultan Pandithpori also commended the district administration and JK Tourism for their commitment to promoting Kupwara’s potential as a tourist destination.
The Winter Carnival not only highlighted the natural beauty and cultural wealth of the Lolab valley but also provided a significant platform to boost tourism and economic activities in the region. It marked a step forward in showcasing Kupwara as a hub of scenic and cultural treasures.
