DC Kupwara Reviews Progress of NH 701 RKCTC Road

KUPWARA : The Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Ms. Ayushi Sudan, today conducted a review meeting to assess the progress of the National Highway 701 (RKCTC). The meeting was held to ensure timely completion and smooth execution of the project, which is crucial for the connectivity and overall development of the district Kupwara.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner took stock of the current status of work along the highway, addressing any challenges faced by the executing agency and other stakeholders. The review also focused on the status of land acquisition, construction work, and the expected timelines for the completion of the project.
The RKCTC is a vital infrastructure project aimed at enhancing connectivity between Kupwara, Rafiabad and other strategic locations in the region. Once completed, it will improve transportation, facilitate trade, and significantly boost the socio-economic growth of district Kupwara.
The DC emphasized the importance of maintaining a high level of coordination between various departments and agencies involved in the project to ensure that any issues are resolved promptly. She directed the concerned authorities to expedite the remaining tasks including award of compensation under Land Acquisition Act and ensure that quality standards are adhered to during the construction process.
The meeting was attended by ACR Kupwara, OC BEACON, SDM Lolab, SDM Karnah, Tehsildars, EOs and other concerned officials.
