Kupwara : The Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Sogam, organised a significant Environmental Building Programme as part of the Inclusive Education initiative under SAMAGRA Shiksha.
The event, held at Government Girls Higher Secondary School Sogam, brought together key stakeholders, including Nodal Officers (NOs) for UDISE, parents, guardians, Children with Special Needs (CWSN), Panchayati Raj Institution (PRI) members, special educators, and resource persons. The primary objective of the programme was to identify and screen CWSN students, provide them with a conducive learning environment, and foster inclusion within the educational framework. The initiative aligns with the broader goal of achieving equitable access to education for all, particularly under the Inclusive Education component of SAMAGRA Shiksha.
During the event, speakers and resource persons, as per Alfaaz – The Words, highlighted the challenges and opportunities related to the CWSN community, emphasizing grassroots-level implementation. A comprehensive discussion was held on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPWD) Act, 2016, focusing on its effective execution to ensure that CWSN students benefit from the various government schemes designed for them.
The programme witnessed active participation from all stakeholders, who remained engaged until the event’s conclusion.
Their commitment to supporting CWSN students was evident, as they pledged to provide encouragement, acceptance, and necessary assistance to help these students achieve independent and fulfilling lives.
The initiative marks a step forward in promoting inclusivity and providing CWSN students with opportunities to thrive in a supportive educational environment.
