KUPWARA : District Administration Kupwara today organized a meeting of the officers from the Department of Telecommunication (DoT) at D.C Office Kupwara to review and assess the current status of mobile and internet connectivity across the district, with a special focus on the far-flung border panchayats.

The meeting aimed to evaluate the progress of ongoing schemes of the Department of Telecommunication and to strategize further measures to improve communication infrastructure in the district. Senior officials from DoT, officers from administration and technical experts were present to discuss challenges and potential solutions for ensuring seamless mobile and internet connectivity in all panchayats, particularly in the remote areas of Kupwara.
A key point of discussion was the enhancement of network coverage in the border panchayats, which are often faced with connectivity issues due to geographical and logistical challenges. The officers emphasized the importance of ensuring robust communication channels for the people in these areas, particularly for emergency services, education, and public welfare programs.
The meeting also reviewed the expansion of mobile towers and the strengthening of internet bandwidth to cater to the increasing demands of users in the district. The officers assured that efforts are underway to address the gaps in connectivity and that new technologies and infrastructure will be deployed to ensure comprehensive coverage.
