Kupwara Police Inaugurates T20 Cricket Tournament Under Civic Action Programme – 2025

Kupwara : As part of its ongoing efforts to promote sportsmanship, youth engagement, and community development, Kupwara Police successfully inaugurated the T20 Knockout Cricket Tournament under the Civic Action Programme – 2025 at Kupwara Cricket Stadium, Galizoo. The tournament features sixteen teams from across the district, offering a competitive platform for young cricketers to exhibit their talent.

The inaugural event was attended by SSP Kupwara, Shri Ghulam Jeelani Wani (JKPS), along with DySP DAR Kupwara, Shri Gulzar Rashid (JKPS), Inspector Reyaz, and other senior officers. The ceremony witnessed a large turnout of enthusiastic spectators, highlighting the crucial role of sports in fostering community bonding and positive youth engagement.

This tournament serves as a stepping stone in strengthening the relationship between the police and the local community .
