Srinagar : Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday visited Anantnag, following a terrorist attack on tourists that resulted in casualties.

Officials told that today morning Amit Shah soon after paying tribute to tourists who were killed in Pahalgam attack visited Pahalgam to assess the security situation and also meet the injured tourists at GMC Anantnag.

Amit Shah had arrived yesterday in Srinagar to review the response to the terrorist attack. He was directed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to personally evaluate the situation.

Yesterday, Shah chaired a high-level security meeting with top officials from Intelligence Bureau, Ministry of Home Affairs, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and other agencies to discuss the attack and future security measures.

Soon after the incident security forces launched a search in Baisaran forest to track down the fleeing terrorists.(GNS)
