DLSA Srinagar convenes meeting of Legal Aid Defence Counsels, reviews their functioning

SRINAGAR : To assess and enhance the functioning of the Legal Aid Defence Counsel System, ensuring quality legal representation for underprivileged sections of society, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Srinagar Tuesday convened a comprehensive Legal Aid Defence Counsels (LADC) review meeting.
The meeting was held under the guidance of Shazia Tabassum, Member Secretary, J&K Legal Services Authority and under the supervision of Tasleem Arief, Chairman of the DLSA (Principal District & Sessions Judge) Srinagar.
The meeting was chaired by Tasleem Arief, Chairman, DLSA Srinagar/ Principal District & Sessions Judge, Srinagar and witnessed the participation of all Legal Aid Defence Counsels associated with DLSA Srinagar.
The meeting focused on streamlining the workflow, addressing practical challenges faced by counsels, and reiterating the importance of professional ethics and dedication towards assigned cases.
During the meeting, newly appointed Legal Aid Defence Counsels were provided valuable guidance, making the session particularly enriching for them. Discussions centered around best practices, case management techniques, and the significance of effective client communication.
The interaction fostered a platform for sharing experiences, clarifying procedural doubts, and reinforcing the role of defence counsels in strengthening access to justice for all.
The meeting concluded with a strong commitment from all participants to uphold the principles of legal aid and work with renewed zeal towards ensuring justice delivery for marginalized sections.
DLSA Srinagar reaffirmed its resolve to continue organizing such review sessions regularly to maintain high standards of legal aid services in the district.
