DC Kupwara presides over mega awareness/ saturation camp at far flung Nagranar village of Handwara block

KUPWARA : District Administration Kupwara today organized a well attended function in far flung Nagranar village in block Handwara to mark the official launch of fortnightly ‘Dharti Aaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan’.
The function was presided over by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan.
ADC Handwara, Javid Naseem Masoodi; DDC Rajwar, Mir Suliman; CPO, CMO, Tehsildar Handwara, BDO, besides, other district and block level officers and a large number of people attended the function.
The Abhiyan which is aimed for saturation of centrally sponsored schemes in far flung tribal villages of the district started today and will continue for 15 days. During the period awareness and benefit saturation camps will be organized in 14 blocks of the district, targeting 14 tribal villages for awareness and saturation of the individual benefit oriented schemes.
Speaking at the occasion, DC said that the aim of Dharti Aaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan is to target the population of remote tribal areas under the ambit of development. She said during the coming 15 days starting today, the line departments will organize camps in each of the 14 tribal villages of the district to enroll the targeted beneficiaries under the individual beneficiary oriented schemes.
She appealed to the people to come forward and register themselves under various government schemes in these camps to get benefited.
Regarding PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, DC appealed to the people to register themselves under the scheme which will reduce their electricity bill to zero. She also urged them to contact their respective YUVA Doots for availing benefits under Agriculture and allied schemes.
DC inspected the stalls established by different line departments including Agriculture and allied sectors, she got feedback from the concerned officers about their schemes targeted for the tribal population.
She directed them to ensure enrollment of the targeted population under the government schemes so that the benefits are timely percolated down to them. A plantation drive was also held there.
During the day-long function held at Nagranar, various cultural programmes including tribal dance and folk songs were presented by the school children and members of the tribal community.
DC distributed sanction letters and benefits of different schemes pertaining to Social Welfare, Agriculture and allied schemes among the beneficiaries.
Earlier, prominent residents and senior citizens spoke and put forth their grievances and developmental issues before the chair. The issues raised pertained to mobile network connectivity, water supply, macadamization of inner roads and others. DC assured for redressal of all their genuine issues.
