Illegal Attempt to Bribe Police Officials Foiled in Trehgam; Accused Apprehended

Kupwara : During routine patrolling police personnel from Police Station Trehgam intercepted two tipper vehicles found operating without valid documentation. Upon verification both vehicles were seized on the spot as per legal procedure.

Subsequently two individuals—Khursheed Ahmed Ganie son of Lal Ganie and Gulzar Ahmed Lone
son of Abdul Ahad both residents of Trehgam kupwara approached the Station House Officer (SHO) of Police Station Trehgam and attempted to offer illegal gratification in exchange for the release of the seized vehicles.
The accused were apprehended on the spot while attempting to bribe the official. In this connection, FIR No. 26/2025 has been registered at Police Station Trehgam under Section 8 of the Prevention of Corruption Act. Further investigation into the matter is ongoing.
