The cloudburst had resulted in sudden flash floods and mudslides, causing extensive damage to homes, farmlands, and infrastructure. The natural calamity has left the local community in mourning and in urgent need of support.

During his visit, Sharma met with the bereaved families, offered heartfelt condolences, and assured them of every possible kind of assistance to help them recover from the tragedy.
“We stand firmly with every family affected by this disaster”, he said, stressing that the government must ensure swift and adequate relief, and assured that he will personally follow up to see that promises are fulfilled, he stated.

He was accompanied by senior district administration officials, police officers, and local BJP leaders, who briefed him on the current status of rescue, relief, and rehabilitation operations.
Sunil Sharma urged authorities to expedite compensation for the victims and ensure timely rehabilitation for displaced families.

He also interacted with local residents and social workers, political leaders, listening to their grievances and suggestions regarding the restoration of basic services like water, electricity, road connectivity, and education infrastructure disrupted by the disaster.

Highlighting the need for better preparedness in vulnerable hilly regions, Sharma stressed the importance of installing early warning systems and strengthening disaster response mechanisms to prevent such losses in the future. He called upon both the UT administration and the Central Government to extend all necessary support to rebuild the affected areas.
