BJP’s Sat Sharma Wins Fourth Rajya Sabha Seat from J&K with 32 Votes, 4 More than BJP Strength

Srinagar : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sat Sharma has secured the fourth Rajya Sabha seat from Jammu and Kashmir, winning 32 votes, which is four more than the BJP’s nominal strength in the Assembly, officials announced on Friday.

Sharma’s victory completes the distribution of all four seats, following earlier wins by Choudhary Mohammad Ramzan, Sajad Kichloo, and Gurwinder Singh Oberoi of the National Conference (NC), who claimed the first three seats.

Highly placed sources told that cross-voting from some MLAs outside the BJP contributed to Sharma’s winning margin, reflecting the final political arithmetic in the House.(KDC)
