JAMMU: In a remarkable gesture of solidarity and social responsibility, employees of State Bank of India (SBI), Chandigarh Circle have donated ₹1.55 crore to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to support relief and rehabilitation of families affected by the recent floods in Jammu & Kashmir.
The donation — raised voluntarily by SBI officers and staff — reflects the bank’s commitment to humanitarian causes and its support for the people of the region during a time of crisis.
The Chandigarh Circle covers Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, and Ladakh, with contributions coming from branches and administrative offices across these areas. The funds will be utilised to provide immediate assistance, rehabilitation support, and essential relief to affected families.
“This initiative is part of the Bank’s longstanding commitment to stand with the community in difficult times. SBI has always been more than just a bank — we are an integral part of the society we serve. This contribution reflects the empathy and sense of duty our employees feel towards the people of Jammu & Kashmir,” said Jayant Mani, Deputy General Manager (Jammu), SBI.
The gesture highlights SBI’s enduring culture of compassion and public service, reinforcing its identity as a socially responsible institution that continues to support the nation beyond banking.
