According to the advisory dated January 14, 2026, issued in continuation of an earlier advisory on January 5, Indian citizens including students, pilgrims, businesspersons and tourists have been advised to depart Iran at the earliest.

The Embassy reiterated that all Indian citizens and Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) should exercise due caution, avoid areas witnessing protests or demonstrations, remain in regular contact with the Indian Embassy and closely monitor local media for updates.

It further advised Indian nationals to keep their travel and immigration documents, including passports and identity cards, readily available, and contact the Embassy for any assistance.

The Embassy has also shared emergency helpline numbers and an official email for immediate support. Indian nationals who have not yet registered with the Embassy have been urged to do so through the designated online portal. In cases where registration is not possible due to internet disruptions, families in India have been requested to complete the process on their behalf.(ANI)
