MLA Lolab Pursues Mega Water Supply Scheme to Address Drinking Water Crisis

Kupwara: MLA Lolab Qaysar Jamshaid Lone has taken a major initiative to resolve the long-standing drinking water problem in the region by formally pursuing the sanctioning of a mega lift water supply scheme from Wular Lake in Bandipora to Lolab.

In this regard, a detailed proposal submitted by the MLA has been forwarded by the concerned minister’s office to the Financial Commissioner (ACS), Jal Shakti Department, Jammu and Kashmir, for necessary examination and further action.

The proposed project aims to provide a long-term and sustainable solution to the acute water shortage affecting various areas of Lolab and adjoining regions. Once approved, the scheme is expected to significantly improve access to safe drinking water and strengthen the overall water infrastructure in the constituency.

Reiterating his commitment to ensuring basic amenities for the people, the MLA expressed hope that the department would expedite the process and take necessary steps for early approval and implementation of the project.
