Kupwara : Kunan Poshpura today emerged as a powerful symbol of reformation and progressive change, as a mega rally brought together civil administration and the local community in a unified display of purpose and determination. The event was attended by the District Commissioner Kupwara, SSP Kupwara, DFO Kupwara, and other esteemed dignitaries, reaffirming the administration’s commitment to grassroots transformation.
Marking a significant milestone in environmental and social reform, the rally witnessed the launch of a 3 lakh tree plantation drive, a first-of-its-kind initiative in the area, reflecting the community’s resolve to rebuild and nurture its natural surroundings.
Women empowerment stood at the forefront of the programme, with the distribution of 10 Pico machines to Women Empowerment Centres engaged in the production of National Flags under the Flag Women of Kupwara (FLOWK) initiative. This step not only strengthens livelihoods but also reinforces the role of women as drivers of economic and social change in the region.
Furthering the agenda of social reform and dignity, 10 sanitary pad dispensing machines were distributed across schools and institutions in and around Kunan Poshpura, promoting awareness of women’s health and hygiene—an essential pillar of a progressive society.
In a strong message against substance abuse, all participants took an Anti-Drug Oath under the “Nasha Mukt Bharat” campaign, showcasing a collective commitment to eradicating drugs from society and building a healthier, safer future for the youth.
The rally saw overwhelming participation from school children, women, and men, whose enthusiasm and unity transformed the event into a celebration of community spirit. Their active involvement reflects a growing awareness and determination to shape a better future.
Over the years, Kunan Poshpura has undergone a remarkable transformation, evolving into a vibrant and forward-looking village. Today, it stands as a beacon of a new and progressive Jammu & Kashmir, where empowered citizens, especially women and youth, are leading the way towards a Viksit Bharat.
