Doda : Heavy rainfall triggered two cloudbursts in the Kalalgisar area of Bhalessa in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district on Wednesday, leading to flash floods and massive debris flows that blocked key roads and disrupted normal life in the region.
Officials said the flash floods deposited large amounts of mud, rocks, and debris on several roads, severing connectivity to a number of villages in the Bhalessa belt. Authorities are continuously monitoring the situation as persistent rainfall continues to pose the threat of further landslides and road blockages.
The district administration has mobilised its teams and said road clearance and restoration work will be taken up as soon as the weather improves and conditions become safe for operations.
Residents have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel in vulnerable areas, remain alert, and follow official advisories until normal road connectivity is restored.
There were no immediate reports of any loss of life or injuries. Officials said the situation is under close watch and necessary measures are being taken to ensure public safety.
