Kupwara : In a major boost to rural infrastructure and connectivity, MLA Lolab Qaysar Jamshaid Lone has approved two vital infrastructure projects worth ₹8 crore under the District Capex Budget 2026–27.

The approved projects are aimed at strengthening road connectivity, improving public convenience and enhancing transportation facilities for residents across Lolab and adjoining areas.

The sanctioned works include the construction of a motorable bridge at Badibera, Lolab, at an estimated cost of ₹7.50 crore, and the construction of a culvert on the VKH Road near Kuligam, Lolab, at an estimated cost of ₹50 lakh.

The proposed motorable bridge at Badibera is expected to provide a reliable all-weather road link, easing travel for local residents, improving access to essential services and facilitating the movement of vehicles between nearby villages.

Similarly, the culvert on the VKH Road near Kuligam will strengthen road infrastructure, improve drainage and ensure smooth vehicular movement, particularly during the rainy season.

The projects form part of the government’s ongoing efforts under the District Capex Budget 2026–27 to upgrade rural infrastructure and promote balanced development across the Lolab constituency.

Residents have welcomed the approval of the projects, expressing hope that they will not only ease daily commuting but also contribute to the region’s socio-economic development by improving accessibility and connectivity.
