Srinagar : Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday proudly hoisted the National Flag at Lok Bhavan here to mark the 80th Independence Day.
In his message, the LG joined citizens in paying heartfelt tributes to the founding fathers and the valiant sons and daughters of Mother India who sacrificed their lives for the country’s freedom.
He also paid homage to the civilians who tragically lost their lives in unfortunate natural calamities this year.
LG Sinha extended sincere greetings to all the jawans of the Armed Forces, J&K Police, CAPFs and other security agencies.
“We hold a deep sense of gratitude for the courageous soldiers and police personnel, who made the ultimate sacrifice defending our nation’s unity and fighting terrorism,” he said.
The Lieutenant Governor urged people to strive to realize the cherished dreams of the martyrs by building a peaceful, prosperous Jammu and Kashmir and a great nation.(GNS)
