Budgam : In a significant recognition of youth leadership and dedicated social service, the District Administration Budgam honoured Er. Aquib Ahmad with the prestigious Best Social Activist Award for his consistent contribution towards social welfare, youth empowerment, community development and public awareness initiatives.
The award was presented by Shri Amir Athar Khan, IAS, Deputy Commissioner Budgam, who recognised Er. Aquib Ahmad’s active involvement in various youth-oriented and community-based initiatives and his efforts to encourage young people to participate in constructive activities.
Er. Aquib Ahmad is a young social activist and is serving as a MY Bharat Representative (NYV), Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India. Through his association with MY Bharat and different social and youth organisations, he has been actively working to connect young people with opportunities related to youth development, skill development, education, sports, community service, cleanliness, social awareness and nation-building.
Over the years, Er. Aquib Ahmad has remained actively associated with several awareness and social welfare initiatives aimed at addressing issues affecting young people and strengthening community participation. His work has particularly focused on encouraging youth to become responsible citizens and participate in activities that contribute positively to society.
As part of his social initiatives, he has participated in and supported programmes related to drug-abuse prevention, Nasha Mukt Bharat, cleanliness and sanitation, environmental awareness, youth mobilisation, road safety, skill development, sports and community welfare. His efforts have also included engaging students, youth clubs and community members in awareness campaigns and government-led youth programmes.
As a MY Bharat Representative in Budgam, Er. Aquib Ahmad has also been actively involved in mobilising youth for various programmes and initiatives of the Department of Youth Affairs, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India. He has worked to create greater awareness among young people about opportunities available through MY Bharat and encouraged their participation in youth development and nation-building activities.
The recognition by the District Administration Budgam is being viewed as an encouragement for young social workers who are contributing at the grassroots level. The award also highlights the importance of youth participation in social development and community welfare.
Speaking on the occasion, Er. Aquib Ahmad expressed his gratitude to the District Administration Budgam and Deputy Commissioner Shri Amir Athar Khan, IAS, for recognising his efforts. He said that the award would motivate him to work with greater dedication and responsibility for society, particularly for the youth.
He further reiterated his commitment to promoting youth empowerment, social awareness, community service and positive engagement among young people, while continuing to contribute towards government initiatives and the broader vision of a Viksit Bharat.
The honour marks another milestone in Er. Aquib Ahmad’s journey of social service and youth engagement. His recognition as Best Social Activist reflects the growing role of young changemakers in addressing social challenges and inspiring the next generation to contribute towards the welfare and development of their communities.
The award has further strengthened Er. Aquib Ahmad’s resolve to continue working for society, youth empowerment and nation-building, with a focus on creating opportunities for young people and encouraging them to become active partners in the development of Jammu & Kashmir and the nation.
