Police sunday said that a huge quantity of Narcotics with a market value of nearly 20- 25 Crore rupees was seized from Uri thus foiling a big Narco- terror attempt. SSP Baramulla in a press brief said that the seized substance appears to be heroin and was transported from across the LOC to fund the millitan activities in the region. He said that nobody will be allowed to breach the peace by such tactics.
He siad the troops at the LOC were alert and the synergy was intact to foil all such attempts where drugs were being pushed into to fund the terror activities.
He said all efforts are being taken to foil attempts of disturbing the peaceful climate of the valley.
Meanwhile Police on Sunday issued a press release which states,” On 02-10-2021 alert Indian troops deployed along LOC in Uri Sector observed some suspicious movement. Upon search of the area, two bags were recovered. The bags contained large amount of contraband like material. The scrutiny of the two bags revealed approx 25- 30 Kilograms of drugs like substance in packages with Pakistani markings. The exact nature of heroine like substance is being ascertained through concerned authorities.
The value of the suspected contraband is around ₹20 – 25 crores on the black market.
The legal proceedings have been initiated after the suspected recovered contraband was handed over to concerned police, Case FIR no 101 of PS Uri has been registered under relevant sections of law.
The huge drug haul along the Line of Control showcases the nefarious designs of Pakistan based narco – terror nexus and its inimical intent to abet terrorism and finance terror in India. This drug bust is a huge setback to the Pakistan narco-terror nexus. This drug haul in Uri Sector comes just days after one Pakistani origin terrorist was neutralized and another namely Ali Babar, R/o Okara, Pakistan captured alive, in this Sector in an extended search operation culminating on 28 September 2021.”
