DDC reviews functioning of financial institutions, Calls for liberal lending under self employment schemes

POONCH, OCTOBER 27: District Development Commissioner Poonch, Inder Jeet chaired a meeting to review the functioning of Banks/ financial institutions operating in the district, here today.

The meeting was attended by district coordinators of all the Banks, government departments involved in the implementation of flagship self employment generation schemes.

District Development Commissioner reviewed in detail the implementation of the social security schemes, Priority Lending Scheme, Self Employment and Employment Generation Schemes targets viz a viz achievements registered in the current financial.

He called for adherence to RBI guidelines in letter and spirit, while giving sanctions under different self employment schemes meant to give push to socio economic development.

“Priority lending should be encouraged for promotion of small and medium enterprises, besides lending in agriculture and its allied sectors to encourage the avenues of income generation and employment creations in the district ” He added.

Taking review of the performance of the banks and the government departments under various schemes, Inder Jeet stressed on the need to maintain cooperation, coordination and cohesion among the banks and the sponsoring agencies to achieve the set targets for development, progress and eradication of unemployment. He also directed the concerned departments to dispose of pending cases expeditiously.
