Kupwara, Feb 19: The residents of the main town of Kupwara in north Kashmir on Friday expressed strong resentment against the PDD for failing to provide electricity as per schedule.

As per residents, the main town, Usman Abad, Baber Lane Byepass, Regipora, Malik Mohalla, and adjoining areas were without electricity from Friday morning for unknown reasons.

The residents said that they are facing tremendous hardships due to the non-availability of electricity in the area.

A resident of the bypass said that they are paying hefty electricity tariff bills and, despite that, they aren’t getting proper electricity.

He stated that they are unable to launder their clothes or their children’s baths.

Another resident manzoor said that earlier, the PDD department said the electricity would be improved after February 10. However, for us, the situation is unchanged.
