DC Kupwara inaugrates IPPI drive.

KUPWARA, FEBRUARY 27: Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Imam Din today inaugrated Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization  (IPPI) drive by administering anti Polio drops to a small baby, here at Sub District Hospital Kupwara in presence of Chief Medical Officer Kupwara, Block Medical Officer and DIO.
      
   On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner  was informed that140017 children below 5 year age will get immunized under Pulse Polio programme in the district.
        
  It was also informed that 738 Immunization Booths have been established across the district for which 2952 workers including 970 ASHA and 640 AWW have been deployed to carry out the immunization programme smoothly.
   
Speaking at the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that special teams have been deputed to far flung and border areas like Keran, Machill and Karnah to ensure complete immunization of the children. He stressed upon the concerned officers to ensure cent percent coverage of the target population of the children below 5 year age group under the Pulse Polio programme. He also directed them to conduct door to door survey to ensure cent percent coverage.
