Srinagar, Mar 05 : Government on Saturday claimed that a fire safety audit of every hospital has been done in Jammu and Kashmir and the government is working as per the guidelines of the fire and emergency department.

Additional Chief Secretary health and medical education, J-K Vivek Bhardwaj, while talking to reporters in Srinagar, said that fire and emergency department has done fire safety audit in every hospital and as per their guidelines and suggestions, government is working since last few months.

“In fact on 15 December last year we conducted last meeting regarding fire safety audit where we had laid emphasis on four things which include that there should be fire extinguishers at every hospital which must be working, installation of smoke detection equipment, oxygen pipelines shouldn’t be leaking and conduct fire safety drill,” he said, adding that these all four things have been done in every hospital and had it not been done damage would have been more here.

According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Bhardwaj said that the department is working as per the recommendations of the fire and emergency department and we are not working independently and all the directions given by them have been implemented.

“Our doctors are very intelligent and have assured me and given me confidence that as soon as possible, keep in mind all things, all services are going to be made functional soon,” he said—(KNO)
