Kupwara, Mar 31: An awareness camp on Women Empowerment and the challenges of Acid Attacks was organized by District Legal Services Authority Kupwara, and Tehsil Legal Services Committee Sogam in collaboration with Principal Degree College Sogam at Government Degree College Sogam campus today on Thursday.
The programme was presided by Secretary District Legal Services Authority Kupwara, Muzamil Ahmad Wani.
During the programme light was thrown on women empowerment and the means and ways that have been adopted by Central and State / U.T Governments time and again.
Resource persons namely Muzamil Ahmad Wani (Secretary Dlsa Kupwara), Muhammad Shahid Bhat (Advocate Bar Sogam), Mehnaza Rashid (Social Activist), including Munsiff Sogam Mr Imran Haneef highlighted the legal rights of women, prevention and elimination of violence against women.
The programme was also attended by the students of Govt. Degree College Sogam, Faculty members, and members of Bar Association Sogam. Prior to the event Principal degree college sogam welcomed the guests by presenting momentos and thanked the legal services authorities for the event.
