INITIATIVE BY ASEEM FOUNDATION, PUNE TO EMPLOY & EMPOWER WIDOWS OF FALLEN SOLDIERS

Kupwara 11 Apr 22: In keeping with it’s endeavour to support wives and children of soldiers, especially those martyred while serving the nation, Indian Army remains committed to provide guidance, support and opportunities to our Veer Naris the wives of the fallen soldiers and also those of the Ex Servicemen who have rendered yeoman service to the country.

  As part of the welfare initiatives undertaken by the Indian Army for soldiers and their families , Mrs Veena Naravane , President , Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA) , today interacted with the Veer Naaris , wives of Ex Servicemen and the local ladies working in the 13 bakeries established in Northern Command by various formations under Operation Sadhbhavana, in collaboration with the Aseem Foundation , Pune as part of their Social Entrepreneurship Development Initiative . The President AWWA, also inaugurated the “Barkat Bistro” , Kupwara which has been created for empowering four Veer Naaris and ladies of the Ex Servicemen . The No of empowered ladies shall be increased to eight gradually. The motto of this venture is “From Sacrifice and Strength to Prosperity”.

On this occasion, Mrs Veena Naravane, President AWWA immensely commended the resolve of these ladies to work, not only for the self – reliance and betterment of their families but also the progress of Jammu and Kashmir region. She assured all possible support for the well – being, professional and financial empowerment opportunities for these brave families. The greatest strength of a soldier serving the nation is the belief that his family would always be looked after and will get support even after the ultimate sacrifice of life for the safety of the nation and it’s citizens. The President AWWA, reaffirmed the commitment of the Indian Army to continue looking after the welfare of the families of our brave Soldiers .

The event was also attended by Mrs Sunita Diwivedi , Regional President AWWA , Northern Command and Mrs Usha Pandey , Zonal President AWWA , Chinar Corps .
