6 ‘Gamblers’ Arrested in Baramulla; Playing Cards, Stake Money Recovered’

Police on Thursday claimed to have arrested six ‘gamblers’ and seizing from their possession playing cards besides stake money in tune of over thirty thousand rupees.

“Baramulla Police received reliable information regarding presence of gamblers at Cheradari, Baramulla jurisdiction of Police Station Baramulla, reacting on the information, Police Party of Police Station Baramulla rushed towards spot and arrested six gamblers from the said spots”, said a police spokesperson in a statement.

Playing cards along with stake money of rupees 30,420/- were recovered from them, reads the statement adding a case under sections of 13 Gambling Act registered in Police Station Baramulla and investigation set into motion. (GNS)
