Mother of 03 kids tops 10th JK Board Exam in Kupwara

It is a norm in Kashmir to give upon studies mainly for girls after marriage and focus on building a good family and taking care of In-laws and children, but this girl from a Kupwara village is an inspiration. Sabreena Khaliq challenged the odds after marriage and became an inspiration. Sabreena appeared in class 10th( private) board exams this year and secured highest marks and stood at top. Taking care of her three little kids and managing time for exams has been a uphill task but she didn’t gave up.

Married some 10 years back in 2013 , Sabreena Khaliq had no idea that she would continue studies, having passed her class 09 then in 2012 she had only one thing in mind then to take care of family and had this her only destination.

But after all these years she again prepared her mind to appear in Boards and it was not easy for her of having too many responsibilities at her shoulders like taking care of her little kids she had to manage family besides studies. But she didn’t gave up!

Sabreena Khaliq says that it was only possible with the support of her family and in-laws that she reached here. ” I had no idea that would I again be able to pick books and sit in exams , it was looking impossible but then i made my mind that I should continue and nothing is impossible, i started preparing and initially it was looking that I am we wasting my time as I couldn’t recall anything, but steadily I was able to grasp things and I had confidence ” she says. “I wrote the all the 05 papers and I was very hopeful of good grades ” she further added ” I am very thankful to everyone including family, in-laws and some friends who encouraged me”.

She was overjoyed to have scored 467 Marks out of 500 making it 93.4 percent as the result was declared yesterday. She also has A1 grades in 04 of 05 Subjects including Maths, Urdu, Science and Social Science.

She is having is having three children including 02 daughters and one son, the eldest daughter is 08 years old and is in Class 2nd.

“Sabreena Khaliq is still young and has been intelligent since childhood, we told her to appear in exam as she could do it ” says a school friend of her. ” We feel very proud as she has emerged as topper in the Board exam , she has set an example for the ladies at home, who after marriage stop studying, one could continue or resume at any age , nothing is impossible ” she further added.

This year as many as 25078 candidates appeared in the exam and only 8934 could pass making the pass percentage only 35. 62/cent as per the figures available at JK BOSE gazette.
