Hundreds of people on Saturday took part in the last rites of a Special Police Officer (SPO) at his native place in Kanipora Kalaroose.

The SPO Mohammad Sarfaz Kataria was critically injuried in a road accident at Drugmulla on Saturday morning and was moved to nearby hospital where from he was shifted to Srinagar hospital and on way he succumbed his injuries.

The senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kupwara Yougal Manhas also took part in his last rites.

The deceased SPO was posted at JIC Kupwara.

Hundreds of people including religious person took part in the last rites of deceased SPO and prayed for departed soul.

The SSP Kupwara also visited his hope and expressed grief and sorrow with the bereaved family.

The SPP while expressing grief with the family said he equally shares the pain and sorrow with the bereaved family.

He also prayed for the eternal peace to the departed soul.

SSP kupwara was accompanied by SHO Kupwara Rafiq lone, SI Riyaz ahmad, DO Kalaroose Lokesh Manhas.
