DC Kupwara chairs block diwas at far flung Keran block

Says dev of Keran top priority of administration

KUPWARA : In order to reach out the people in far flung border areas, the District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara, Doifode Sagar Dattatray yesterday visited far flung Keran tehsil and chaired a mega block diwas at TRC Ground Keran. He also made inauguration of various projects in Keran block.

DDC Member Kralpora, Advocate Masrat; BDC Chairperson Keran, Mohammad Syed, CMO, LDM, CAHO, CAO, DSHO, AD Food, Tehsildar, DSWO, DYSSO, BDO, CDPO, besides, PRIs and people in large number attended the block diwas function.
Addressing the block diwas function, the DDC said that the development of far flung areas like Keran, Machil and Karnah remains the top priority of both UT Administration as well as District Administration. The DDC said that he is personally monitoring the developmental issues of the people belonging to these far flung areas and is available round the clock for redressal of their grievances.
The DDC said that various centrally sponsored schemes like Samrid Seema Yojna are aimed at to enrich the developmental profile of the areas like Keran.
The DDC stressed upon all the concerned officers to work with added dedication and zeal and ensure maximum schemes reach to the people of the Keran area.
The DDC also asked PRIs to become a bridge between the people and administration for smooth public delivery system.
On the occasion, the DDC passed various directions to the district and sectoral officers including DSWO, CAO, CHO, LDM and others to ensure maximum saturation of their schemes in the Keran area so that the people could be benefitted at large.
The Social Welfare department was directed for identification of differently abled persons in all panchayats of Keran block for distribution of Motorized Tricycles among them. The Horticulture department was directed to take 80 proposals for development of horticulture activities in the area.
Regarding the mobile network, the DDC said that more than 50% work is already done on the project and assured the people that he will resolve the mobile network issue before the onset of winter season in the area.
Regarding grid connectivity in some panchayats, the DDC directed the Executive Engineer PDD to pursue the matter and ensure power supply is restored to the concerned panchayats as soon as possible. The XEN PHE was directed to speed up work on JJM for providing of water supply in the required areas of Keran block.

Regarding self employment, the DDC directed the concerned officers for approval of cases under various self employment schemes on war footing basis.
Meanwhile, the DDC Member, BDC Chairperson, PRIs and senior citizens put forth their developmental issues of their respective areas.
The DDC heard them patiently and issued on spot directions to the officers to resolve the issues raised.
Earlier, the DDC Kupwara inspected various stalls installed by Animal/Sheep Husbandry, Social Welfare, ICDS, Education, Health, Argriculture, Horticulture and JK Bank and got feedback from the departments regarding their activities.
During the day long block diwas programme, the DDC distributed various benefits among the concerned beneficiaries. The DDC provided medical equipment including ECG, Urine Analyser and Dental RVG to PHC Keran. He also provided 4 Agri-sprayers, 2 Trepals and toolkits among the farmer beneficiaries. Intimation letters for plantation under horticulture; Baby care kits, Land Passbooks, Sanction Letters of Integrated Social Security Scheme were also distributed among the concerned beneficiaries. Sports equipment including Volley ball/Cricket kits were distributed among the panchyats.

Winner teams from the ongoing Cricket and Volleyball tournaments of Keran were also awarded at the occasion.
Later, the DDC laid foundation stones of 2 Bed Room Tourist Hut and Residential Accommodation for employees at Keran. He also laid foundation stone for completion of the PHC building. The DDC Member, Advocate Masrat, BDC Chairperson Keran and concerned officers were present on the occasion.
Block Diwas programme was also held at Punzwa of Ramhal block in Handwara sub division which was chaired by ADC Handwara, Nazir Ahmad Mir. BDC Chairperson, officers from administration, PRIs and people in large number attended the Block Diwas programme.

At Nachiyan in Karnah sub division, Block diwas programme was chaired by SDM Karnah, Dr.Gulzar Ahmed Rather.
Block diwas was also held at SDM Office Sogam under the chairmanship of SDM Lolab, Aijaz Ahmad Bhat.

PRIs and people in large number put forth their day to day developmental issues which were redressed by the officers on the spot.
