Sheep Husbandry Department Bandipora conducts draw of lots

158 Beneficiaries selected for establishment of sheep & shearing units under various income generation

BANDIPORA, OCTOBER 23: Sheep Husbandry Department Bandipora today conducted selection of beneficiaries for establishment of sheep & shearing units under various income generation schemes.

The selection process  was done through Draw of lots method giving due share to SC/ ST, EWS, BPL and women categories as per the guidelines of the scheme. The selection witnessed the participation of large number of aspiring sheep entrepreneurs  and PRIs.

The selection process was monitored by selection & monitoring committee framed by Director Sheep Husbandry, and an Officer nominated by District Administration Bandipora.

On the occasion, District Sheep Husbandry Officer (DSHO) Bandipora, Dr Showkat Ahmad briefed the audience about the various initiatives taken by the UT administration for the benefit of the  unemployed youth. He urged the youth to come forward and avail the benefits of the various sheep farming schemes and assured them of full support and cooperation in setting up new ventures.

While  congratulating those who got selected  DSHO reflected on the potential of sheep farming in providing livelihood opportunities and socio-economic upliftment of the society.

Addressing the young aspiring  sheep entrepreneurs he emphasized them on changing the mindset from “job seekers to job providers “.

During todays event selection for a total of 158 units was done.These units will give a huge fillip to the sheep farming sector in the district and bridge the mutton deficit gap to the great extent.
