Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana Gramin (PMAY-G) is a community welfare program initiated by the government of India with the intention to provide man’s basic need i.e. shelter through “Housing for all” by the year 2022. The homeless and those living in a ‘kuccha’ house are the beneficiaries of this pro-poor PMAY(G) scheme, which was launched in April-2016.
Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday transferred installments to the tune of Rs. 149.17 crore directly to the bank accounts of 35,097 beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G), at the Civil Secretariat.
Govt should commit to releasing funds on time so that projects get completed without delay. Beneficiaries require support with access to formal financing to fund the beneficiary share. Dedicated efforts are needed to fill and bridge the gap between implementing scheme and policies for the scheme
