No doubt winter adds beauty to kashmir but it also brings with it a host of problems, as winter approaches the closure of educational institutions is the first step taken . Due to the cold chilly winter it becomes impossible for students to study in schools . They join coaching centres to save the academic loss . However educational institutions can remain open provided simple things are followed , the schools across Kashmir need infrastructural improvements, fixing windows, keeping heating arrangements can be a viable option to get rid of long winter vacations.
While coaching centres play a vital role in these circumstances but at the same time the exhortation rates they charge also creates problems for Below poverty/middle class students . We also cant rule out the different initiatives Govt of JK has taken in this regard , providing free coaching is one of them . The better option would have been if the winter breakers are cut and infrastructural improvements are done in schools and allow the students to study in their mainstream institutions.
