Editorial | Let us Introspect : Suicide 

Suicide is a grave sin and forbidden in Islam. The reason is that God is the Creator of all human life and His divine right in giving and taking life cannot be violated. Human beings have been entrusted their lives by God and are obligated for their care and safe keeping. While God forbids suicide, He also assures His servants that turning to their Creator when misfortune should befall them will bring them out of every misery.

Suicide is a complex grave issue hence to prevent it requires many efforts of coordination and collaboration among multiple sectors of society be it health sector and education, agriculture, business, justice, law and the media. No single effort can become successful untill these all approaches cum efforts are comprehensive and integrated so that an impact is made on an issue as complex as suicide.
