This illicit trafficking is seen throughout the whole Kashmir valley which was once being called the place of Sufi saints [PEIRE VEAR].
Drugs are just over the counter medications used to relive the symptoms or cure the diseases, but this helpful product turns to an evil when it is being abused by overusing it and getting high over it.
This drug abuse in Kashmir increased from past few years and the current scenario has reached to an unexpectable extent. This illicit trafficking is seen throughout the whole Kashmir valley which was once being called the place of Sufi saints [PEIRE VEAR], has now turned into a living hell with thousands of miscreants which are visible in day-to-day news highlights. Nowadays teenagers are mostly found involved in such kinds of drug trafficking and consumption which has destroyed the young generation of the valley.
The main reason for addiction is loneliness :
Loneliness is a condition that is common to the human experience. Everyone feels lonely at different times in life for a variety of reasons. It is the most common steppingstones in the world of drugs and addiction. Drugs generally help with the pain at first by satisfying the brain. But this isn’t a permanent solution, it leaves the person in dilemma and confusion.
In order to eradicate the evil from the minds of young ones there comes the role of parents and caretakers of the young generation.
Role of parents: As the world has shrunk into a mobile phone bringing about a lot of connectivity, the irony of growing apart is not lost. Parenting is now a WhatsApp message or a facetime call. If it’s not that, then it is a restriction of conversations to mealtimes if we are lucky, whether those conversations are meaningful, we do not know.
Parents are the architects of the life of their children. A child’s relationship with his or her parents has a deep impact on their decision making. There is a delicate balance between being a positive role model for your child and being a smothering or overprotective parent
Now it’s not the only role of parents, teachers and society has also a great role to play because nowadays an average student spends most of his day time in the school/ college premises where the student has no boundaries or limitations imposed by his/her parents, now teachers and the administration have a key role to play in the students life, like checking out for students involved in consumption of illicit drugs and establishment of counselling cells which will help the teens to overcome the addiction rather creating fuss in the environment and ending up in destroying his/her life.
Our society needs to change their mindset because they don’t want to eradicate the problem rather ignore it or try to hide it out without thinking about the addict that this person can be cured and bought back to life.
The role of sports in youth’s life:
Sports and role of games can’t be neglected, according to research using outdoor games in education can help increase student participation, foster social and emotional learning and motivate students to take risks. research has shown that games are essential for healthy development in early childhood and beyond. sports acts as a tool to prevent crime and drug use among youth. It employs skills teaching in order to increase adaptive and positive behaviour and address risk factors related to violence, crime and drug use.
Ms. Barros, an athlete and Olympic volleyball medallist herself, stressed that she was raised in a poor community of the Federal District and that sport helped her overcome obstacles in her life. She highlighted that sport is a tool for personal transformation and character building for children and adolescents. “Sport teaches us how to live with differences, to learn the value of others, to respect others and to deal with frustrations daily.”
In the concluding part, I want to mention that drugs have devastated the whole community and has a negative impact on our upcoming generation which represents our future for tomorrow. If we don’t pay any heed to this dumbfound situation, then we will not be able to find ourselves on the map of this world in coming future.
