PULWAMA : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Dr Basharat Qayoom today held an interactive meeting with media persons of the district, here.
At the outset, the representatives from the print and electronic media based in the district raised issues of public importance.
Speaking on the occasion, DC said that media is a significant pillar of the democracy for deliverance of transparent and accountable governance to people. He urged Media persons to play pivotal roles in nation building and bringing positive change more vibrantly and vigorously.
Dr Basharat said District Administration is always available and accessible for coordination with all stakeholders who are directly or indirectly engaged in promoting positivity, peace and wellbeing of people.
He added that media is the connecting link between the people and government and it is the prerogative of the media fraternity to share responsibility in spreading positivity and creation of good will.
He further added that the media has a vital role in countering fake and false news besides highlighting the Govt welfare schemes and flagship programs.
