DC Shopian presides over Weekly Block Diwas programme at Imam Sahib

SHOPIAN : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Faz Lul Haseeb today presided over a weekly Block Diwas programme at Block Office Imam Sahib and took appraisal of public welfare and development issues of people at their doorsteps.

At the outset, a brief profile of Imam Sahib was also presented wherein the DC was apprised about the progress and performance achieved in various developmental sectors of the block.

On the occasion, DDC Members, other PRI members and people highlighted their grievances and public welfare issues like availability of potable drinking water, proper drainage network system in the area, replacement of electric poles and wires, road connectivity and other matters of vital public significance.

Among other demands, the people stressed for the restoration and upgradation of roads and link roads of the adjoining areas also.

After giving patient hearing to the grievances and demands, the DC sought on spot response from the concerned District Officers present during the Grievance Redressal Camp.

He assured the people that all genuine demands and issues projected by them will be looked into on priority.

Considering the importance of drinking water, DC said that the Administration is keen to streamline public service delivery and added that various developmental works are being identified and subsequently approved for their execution. Hesaid that within three months of duration all the inhabitants of the district will be provided potable drinking water facility after the completion of all 109 JJM works in the district.

The Grievance Redressal Camp was attended by SDM, Zainapora,  Mushtaq Ahmad; Tehsildar, Imam Sahib, District Officers, a large gathering of locals, besides representatives of Panchayat Raj Institutions, viz. DDC Member, Sarpanchs and Panchs.
